Someone, whether it be a friend or a total stranger, has fallen asleep on you wherever you happen to be; you are a rather comfortable pillow to them.

Do you let them sleep or abruptly wake them up?

"It's rather hard to imagine it any other way. He's protective of both Sharon and myself, though he certainly pushes enough work on me at Pandora. And when he found out what my full first name is, he teased me endlessly!"

There's a fondness there. Mina glances down at the child, running her hand through his hair again. Her expression turns a bit pensive.

"I... Our worlds, our roles, are quite different. I will never have this."

Notif was eaten, sorry about that.

"Oh, he teases me plenty, so we at least still have that in common." Flirty teasing, but teasing all the same. "But never about my name." He knows better, since he's trusted with the knowledge of her real name.

She feels a little sad for Mina, who obviously is fond of Aiden already, despite having just met him and is unlikely to have a child with her current life choices. Though she wants to express it, pity probably won't be well received so instead she tries, "You know, it's hard to find good babysitters. My best on is currently an amnesiac and I've been having trouble not overloading the other's schedule. If you wouldn't mind… perhaps you could spend a little time getting to know the could have been a little better?"

"Your name?" That gets an interested look. "Your real one, the one you had before you took Liam?"

The offer startles her, and it takes her a moment to respond. She recognizes that it's out of pity, to a certain extent, but with kind intentions.

"That would be... quite nice."

And possibly a bad thing; what would happen if she were to start wanting a child of her own? Would it shake her resolve?

"Yes, the one my mother gave me. Not very many people know it, especially here. It's… very classified information." And she'd been trained out of answering instinctively to it so whenever she was called it it was always a startling thing.

"It's a relief that you'd like to. Aiden is a dear but he's quite full of energy and sometimes it's better for him to have new environments and people to exercise that energy on."

The joys of parenthood are also mixed with the pains of having an extremely intelligent and hyperactive child.

"After all," she nods to the child sleeping next to her, "he seems to like you already. I think that makes you quite eligible."

"Ah... Understandable, though my understanding is it hardly matters here."

She manages a bit of a smile at that.

"Well, it will certainly be interesting. If he's anything as energetic as Lady Sharon was as a child, or Xerx on sugar, it should be interesting."

Mina's smile fades slightly.

"Actually, he thought I was you. He may have reacted differently upon waking and finding I am not."

"It matters to me. I was very thoroughly taught to not answer to that name." So she really, really couldn't go back to causally using that name like she was still that person. It unsettled her mind.

"He bears a definite resemblance to Xerxes after he consumes a great deal of sugar. But, um, in an endearing way." No need to frighten away a potential babysitter. "Not that Xerxes isn't endearing, too, in his own infuriating manner."

That she rather misses.

"You might be surprised. He likes most people he meets."

As if on cue, Aiden stirs, raising his head.

[shutupxerxes]

"I suppose, but I've heard we don't retain our memories of this place when we leave. Perhaps this is somewhere you can be free."

As Mina has decided for herself it is for her as well. The comment about sugar gets a little giggle.

"Oh, you poor dear. No wonder you need a babysitter. Most young children do like most people they meet, with the exception of Elliot Nightray, who prefers to point swords at them."

Mina pets the boy's hair.

"Did you have a nice nap?"

Aiden blinks blearily up at her, not realizing that his waking had saved his mother from explaining more about her aversion to her real name. In fact, he hasn't even noticed his mother is there. He looks briefly confused at exactly who he'd fallen asleep on.

"You're not… oh, you're a Mommy from a different world then?"

Cause she looks like Mommy looks sometimes when she used to go to work as a Lady.

He knuckles an eye sleepily.

"'M still sleepy."

Mina isn't quite sure how to answer that question. The answers are conflicting--yes, because she is a version of this child's mother, but no, because she never intends to marry or produce children.

"I suppose I am, technically," she finally answers.

The child's adorable exhaustion wins a smile, though.

"Well, your mother is here, now. But if you're sleepy again, I don't mind if you fall asleep by me."

He looks around blearily and smiles when he sees Mommy near the door. She gets a little wave.

"Hi Mommy. Sorry."

Falling asleep on a stranger is something he knows he's not supposed to do cause it's really dangerous.

"But she's nice." He pats the leg the leg he was just leaning against. "She isn't mad."

With a fond smile she moves forward to crouch by him, not hard since she wears very little in the way of corsetry and petticoats.

"Just this once it's alright, just be a little more careful where you fall asleep next time."

Next time the person he falls asleep on might not be so friendly.

"I think it might be time you napped at home, dear."
